Our main facility is the Masjid which is located next to the Food Lion on 3034 Fayetteville Street. This is where our community gathers to offer the five daily prayers and the congregational Salaatul Jumu’ah on Fridays at 1:10 pm. We also offer Islamic education for adults with specific classes aimed towards brothers and sisters. Classes are held in the evening time. Being the main Masjid, this location is where we offer the majority of our services including marriage services, community gatherings, outreach programs and social events. Non-Muslims interested in visiting our community should come to this location since the majority of our activities are held at the Masjid. In 2011 we constructed a funeral home at this location allowing us the capability to wash the bodies our deceased brothers and sisters and accompany them to the cemetery.

Parkwood Facility

Our second facility is located at 5122 Revere Road, Durham in the Parkwood neighborhood. The Parkwood building was purchased in 2009 and is currently used as the educational center for children in our community. The highlight of this facility is Al-Huda Academy, a full-time elementary Islamic School. Al-Huda Academy’s mission is to provide affordable, high-quality academic education guided by Islamic morals in a safe and stimulating environment that nurtures a strong Muslim identity, creativity, and intellectual development. Al-Huda currently offers Kindergarten up till grade 5, and a preschool program for 3 and 4 years old children. The school follows the NC Common Core Curriculum for ELA and Math, the Essential Standards for Science, Social Studies and PE in addition to the Arabic, Qur’an and Islamic studies curricula.
Parkwood Facility is home to Al Misbah Quran Academy, a Weekend school program that typically enrolls over 100 children every semester.Al Misbah Quran Academy classes are held every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. There are approximately 10 classes taught by 15 teachers and cover topics including the life of the Prophet Muhammad, introduction to Quran, reciting the Quran with the rules of tajweed and general Islamic knowledge. Finally, Parkwood Facility serves as the location where we hold our two Eid prayers.”
