About Parkwood Masjid
Parkwood Masjid is JIAR’s second facility and it is located at 5122 Revere Road, Durham in the Parkwood neighborhood. The Parkwood building was purchased in 2009 and is currently used as the educational center for children in our community. The highlight of this facility is Al-Huda Academy, a full-time elementary Islamic School. Al-Huda Academy’s mission is to provide affordable, high-quality academic education guided by Islamic morals in a safe and stimulating environment that nurtures a strong Muslim identity, creativity, and intellectual development. Al-Huda currently offers Kindergarten up till grade 5, and a preschool program for 3 and 4 years old children. The school follows the NC Common Core Curriculum for ELA and Math, the Essential Standards for Science, Social Studies and PE in addition to the Arabic, Qur’an and Islamic studies curricula.
